The Kansas City Chiefs have relied on their defense more this season than in the recent past.
In most seasons, the Chiefs could rely on their offense to dominate games.
But, this year the Chiefs offense has not been as good.
Kansas City is only averaging 23.3 points per game, which ranks 11th in the NFL.
Luckily, their defense has stepped up to the task and played well this season.
Their defense is only allowing 16.5 points per game which is third best in the NFL.
Also, the Chiefs are close to getting one of their key defenders back.
According to Jordan Foote, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said linebacker Nick Bolton will not be activated off IR this week.
#Chiefs head coach Andy Reid indicates that Nick Bolton won’t be fully activated off IR this week. Looks like everyone else is tracking to play on Sunday.

Bolton returned to practice this week in a limited capacity, but the Chiefs want to play it safe.
The 23-year-old linebacker has only played in four games this season.
But he has recorded 28 combined tackles during that time.
There is no reason to risk re-injury this week when the Chiefs have hopes for playing in February.
It will be interesting to see how the Chiefs handle playing on the road this week.
They play on Sunday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers.
Even though the Packers are not a great team, they have been playing well of late.
It will be a good test for the Chiefs to see where they stand on both sides of the ball.
Even though they have struggled at times, the Chiefs still have a great chance to be one of the final teams standing.
