The Kansas City Chiefs have been looking for someone to step up in their wide receiver room.
There is no hiding that they have not gotten much production from wide receivers this year.
Most of their production in the passing game comes from tight end Travis Kelce.
But, it finally seems like they have a rookie ready to take on a larger role.
Rashee Rice was the Chiefs’ second-round pick in this past NFL Draft.
Despite playing sparingly at the beginning of the year, Rice is coming off the best game of his career last week.
He caught eight passes for 107 yards and one touchdown.
After his big game, it appears Rice will continue to play a large role in the offense.
According to Charles Goldman, Chiefs OC Matt Nagy said on Rice: “He’s playing more. He’s getting more reps. And with that comes more trust, more experience.”

Rice might be the most talented receiver on their team and his emergence is crucial.
The Chiefs have struggled at drafting pass catchers in recent years.
Last season, they selected Skyy Moore in the second round and that pick has yet to work out.
It is hard to argue against the Chiefs having the best quarterback and offensive play-caller in football.
But, even Patrick Mahomes need quality players to throw to.
There is no question the Chiefs offense has not looked as good as we have seen in the past.
But, they still have time to fix things before we reach win or go home in January.
