The Buffalo Bills just traded Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans in one of the most surprising moves of the offseason.
Diggs was frustrated with the way things were going in Buffalo, and the team ultimately decided to let him walk.
As the team scrambles to find a replacement for the star receiver, Chris Simms outlined the main reason Diggs was traded away.
Simms discussed this in a tweet, saying, “Main thing that jumps out is that they must have been *so* done with Stefon Diggs to trade him for that return.”
From the Bills perspective, main thing that jumps out is that they must have been *so* done with Stefon Diggs to trade him for that return AND to leave themselves that bare at WR AND take that cap hit AND trade him within the AFC

The Bills only received a 2025 second-round pick in return for Diggs, compensation that Simms and other analysts have questioned.
Diggs is viewed as one of the best receivers in the league, and the Bills would have needed a good reason to accept this type of deal.
Simms indicated that the situation had gotten too hairy from the Bills’ perspective, leaving them no choice but to comply.
As Simms mentioned, the Bills traded him to another AFC team, adding an additional layer to this.
Josh Allen and the Bills have worked hard to up their status within the conference, and losing Diggs certainly doesn’t help their chances moving forward.
Plus, with the Texans taking a massive leap in production from 2022-2023 and the fact that Diggs is now on the roster, they could catapult the Bills in the overall standings.
Both teams will look a lot different in 2024 than they did in 2023.
Which of these new-look AFC rosters will end the year with a better record?
