The NFL’s MVP race is heating up.
There are seemingly two front-runners for this award, as Dak Prescott and Brock Purdy have gotten significant traction lately.
Christian McCaffrey has also received some attention for this award, putting two San Francisco 49ers players in the race for MVP.
McCaffrey recently appeared on Tom Brady’s podcast, “Let’s Go!,” where he was asked about his take on the award.
“If I had my vote, it would be Brock as the MVP, and Trent would be the second in line,” McCaffrey said via Pro Football Talk.

This is the inverse of what Purdy recently said, as he gave a glowing endorsement to McCaffrey and said that he should win MVP.
Regardless of who wins the award and if it’ll go to a member of the 49ers, the energy surrounding this team is optimistic.
As McCaffrey’s comments indicate, their offense is thriving, filled with elite skill-position players and offensive linemen.
Trent Williams would also be at the heart of the MVP conversation alongside Purdy if it were up to McCaffrey.
Having a reliable left tackle is one of the most critical positions on an NFL roster.
Williams is tasked with protecting Purdy’s blind side, keeping opposing defenses away from him at all costs.
He also helps open up holes for McCaffrey in the run game but is often an unsung hero for his efforts.
With McCaffrey’s and Purdy’s comments in mind, who will take home this year’s MVP award?
The last non-quarterback to win the award was Adrian Peterson in 2012.
Fans will be interested to see if McCaffrey can edge out his teammate, breaking the streak of quarterback wins.
