The Chicago Bears have a new leader.
A couple of weeks ago, rookie QB Caleb Williams claimed that he would listen to the veterans because he had to learn how to be a follower before being a leader.
However, it seems like it didn’t take long before his competitive spirit took over him.
Recently, star TE Cole Kmet claimed that he had just found out how competitive his new quarterback was.
Talking to the media, he revealed that Williams insisted on finishing a friendly game at TopGolf even though the place was about to close.
Apparently, they stayed until past 1:00 am, with Kmet adding that he wound up winning the game anyway (via Chicago Bears & Ari Meirov).
#Bears TE Cole Kmet says the one thing he’s learned about Caleb Williams is how competitive he is. They were at Topgolf recently, and even though the place was about to close, Caleb insisted on finishing the game.

That’s just how professional athletes are, particularly those who have been used to winning for most of their lives.
Notably, some questioned whether Williams had that kind of competitive fire inside of him, as he didn’t find much success in his final season at USC, particularly in big games.
This is the kind of thing you want to hear from the face of your franchise.
Michael Jordan and Tom Brady wanted to win at absolutely everything they did; that’s just their nature.
Williams and the Bears are expected to be one of the most improved teams in the league right away, and players who push themselves and are never satisfied are the ones who usually get the job done.
Expectations are high and for great reason.
