The 2023 NFL season looks like a lost cause for the New England Patriots as they suffered their fifth loss.
The Patriots were beaten by the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 6, and at 1-5 it looks like they’ll be in contention for the number one overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
It’s been a nightmare of a season for New England as the offense is a complete and utter mess while the defense has lost a couple of key players to injury.
Bill Belichick has never been on the hot seat like this before and there are murmurs that he could be let go if the Patriots continue to spiral out of control.
All dynasties must come to an end, and it feels like New England will finally need to embrace the rebuild it’s been staving off the past couple of years.
When it comes to fixing the Patriots’ problems, Colin Cowherd offered up some suggestions via The Herd.
“Build a statue, get Ben Johnson… Go get Mac help if you can’t get Drake Maye or Caleb Williams,” Cowherd said.

Cowherd suggests that New England part ways with Belichick and hire Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson as their new head coach.
He also says he would get Mac Jones more help in the wide receiver room or outright tank in order to take either Caleb Williams or Drake Maye.
These are all ideas that have been thrown out already, though it remains to be seen if team owner Robert Kraft has the stomach to launch a full-fledged rebuild after decades of winning.
