At this point in time, with about a few weeks left until the Chicago Bears are on the clock with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the consensus is USC superstar Caleb Williams will be the first player taken in the draft.
After Williams is presumably taken by the Bears with the top pick in the draft, the Washington Commanders and New England Patriots are expected to select quarterbacks as well, with Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, and J.J. McCarthy in the running for these two picks.
The real intrigue in the upcoming draft is what the Commanders will do at No. 2 with a number of quarterbacks being linked to the team, but it seems to be a little clearer who Washington is seriously considering taking with the second pick.
According to Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports, the Commanders appear to be leaning toward taking Daniels with Williams off the board at No. 1 via The Volume.
“I feel with some confidence that the first two players picked in this draft are going to be Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels,” Cowherd said.

With the start of the draft still a few weeks away, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that the Commanders change their stance, and more rumors like these continue to surface, making it nearly impossible to figure out precisely who Washington wants to bring in.
One thing seems for sure, three quarterbacks will be off the board after the third pick in the upcoming draft, but it remains to be seen which three quarterbacks will be taken.
