Mock drafts have had Bo Nix all over the place in recent months.
It’s impossible to gauge exactly what teams are thinking when it comes to this QB class, as there is so much talent and so many teams in need of a new franchise signal-caller under center.
Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd thinks the Denver Broncos are the ideal spot for Nix, saying “Sean Payton needs to win now. He’s not here to teach you how to play quarterback.”

Nix’s 61 starts at Auburn and Oregon was the most for any quarterback in NCAA history.
He enters the draft with a questionable ceiling and uncertain arm strength, but the production speaks for itself.
Cowherd highlighted how Nix is an ideal plug-and-play option for a team that has the infrastructure to win immediately, which the Broncos do given their Super Bowl-winning coach and their multitude of weapons on offense in Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, and Javonte Williams.
The Broncos have the second-worst salary cap situation in the NFL after cutting Russell Wilson and eating an NFL-record $85 million in dead cap space, so they likely have to fill the quarterback spot through the draft instead of paying up for someone like Kirk Cousins or Baker Mayfield in free agency.
Nix feels like Payton’s type of quarterback, as he can excel in an established system built to his strengths of navigating the pocket, spreading the ball around, and getting the ball out quickly.
That sounds a lot like the offense Payton ran in New Orleans for years with Drew Brees.
