After 24 seasons with the New England Patriots and winning six Super Bowl titles with the storied franchise, legendary head coach Bill Belichick is looking for another job in the NFL, with longtime team owner Robert Kraft parting with him after the 2023 NFL season.
Although there were plenty of head coaching vacancies in the league after Belichick was let go, he was unable to land a new job despite seemingly being the favorite to be hired by the Atlanta Falcons and interviewing with the Washington Commanders.
With every head coaching job in the league being filled, Belichick will have to wait for an opening in the NFL, which could mean he won’t get another job until a year from now, but it seems as though he’s already got his eyes on the Dallas Cowboys.
Mike McCarthy will likely be on thin ice during the 2024 NFL season, as he could lose his job during or after the season, opening the door for Belichick to come in and take over what is a very talented team on both sides of the football.
However, Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports doesn’t believe Belichick would be a good fit for the Cowboys, and he explained why on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd.”

Cowherd believes the dynamic between Cowboys team owner and general manager Jerry Jones and Belichick won’t work because the future Hall of Famer wants a lot of control over the team, which likely won’t happen in Dallas.
With Jones always wanting to be directly involved with a very hands-on approach, it seems unlikely that this pairing would work or last long, but Belichick might be desperate enough to take a step back with an opportunity to be at the helm of America’s Team and having a chance to win another ring.
