The Washington Commanders made a quick and decisive action following one of the worst parts of the team’s 28-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 15.
The team cut long snapper Camaron Cheeseman less than 24 hours after a game where he had two horrific snaps, one of which came on a punt at the end of the second quarter to help the Rams kick a field goal at the end of the first half and build a 10-0 lead.

There are bad snaps, then there’s this from Camaron Cheeseman.

The Commanders had decent field position around their own 39-yard line after the defense forced and recovered a fumble, but the offense failed to do anything and went three-and-out on the ensuing possession.
So, with 1:08 left in the first half, the Commanders set up to punt the ball away and give the Rams a long field before their final drive of the half.
Cheeseman’s snap skidded over the ground like a skipping stone where punter Tress Way could do nothing but fall on the bad snap rather than let the Rams pick up the ball and score.
That set up the Rams for a few quick plays to get into field goal position and jump out to a 10-0 lead.
Cheeseman bobbled another snap on a Commanders’ extra point that was blocked by the Rams.
Cheeseman had been with the Commanders for the past three seasons as their long snapper since Washington drafted him in the sixth round out of Michigan in 2021.
He reportedly had been in danger of losing his starting job all season long, but Week 15’s missteps were the final straw.
