More often than not, prospects wow NFL scouts with their measurements, athleticism, and potential.
They seem to have the build of someone who could go on to become a successful NFL player, and sometimes, that just doesn’t translate to reality.
That’s why they also take their personalities, characters, and work ethics into consideration.
But even with that approach, there are some things you just can’t quantify.
Effort is one of those things, and Cooper Kupp is a prime example of that.
Recently, the Los Angeles Rams star shared a story about how he earned every single chance he got to play football.
There is a big difference between “Earning” something and feeling like you “Deserve” something.
This applies in football, work, and personal relationships. Here’s my personal story: pic.twitter.com/oJD2VybX5f

He was a skinny guy in high school whose prospects of making the team were quite slim, which is why he became absolutely obsessed with getting better and outworking everybody every single day.
He then made it to Eastern Washington, where he heard through some back channels that he wouldn’t even get to play there.
Once again, he worked tirelessly to prove the doubters wrong.
Not even when his name was called in the third round of the NFL Draft did he change his mindset, as he continues to take the same obsessive approach to his game to this day.
Fast forward to today, and he’s one of the best wide receivers in the game, a Triple Crown and Super Bowl winner, and a guy who will most likely have his jersey retired by the NFL franchise.
That’s the difference between deserving things and earning them.
