The Dallas Cowboys have had an uneventful offseason, as they haven’t done anything in free agency and personnel-wise have made no real moves outside of announcing that head coach Mike McCarthy and quarterback Dak Prescott are returning for 2024, perhaps their last seasons with the team unless they can make a deep playoff run.
But that’s all in the rearview mirror as it is now draft season, and the Cowboys are hosting three noteworthy local prospects today.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Dallas is hosting a trio of Texas Longhorns today, including running back Jonathon Brooks, tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders, and defensive tackle Byron Murphy.
The #Cowboys are hosting several local, talented draft prospects today, getting visits from #Texas RB Jonathan Brooks, TE Ja’Tavion Sanders, and DT Byron Murphy, source said.

The biggest prospect on this list is Murphy, who is a projected late first-round pick after posting five sacks with Texas last season.
Murphy has been impressive both as a run stuffer and pass rusher and would help mitigate the losses of defensive linemen Dorance Armstrong, Jonathan Hankins, and Dante Fowler Jr.
Brooks is in the conversation for being the first running back off the board, which might not happen until the third round due to this being a weak RB class.
He broke out for 1,139 yards and ten touchdowns on the ground last season and would be an ideal local replacement for losing Tony Pollard to the Titans in free agency.
Sanders is also a projected second or third-round pick and is an athletic mismatch at tight end who would complement Jake Ferguson well.
Dallas has a regular slate of draft picks this year, possessing their own projected picks aside from a fourth-rounder and with the addition of an added pick in the seventh.
