Sunday night’s matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys was supposed to be a fierce battle between arguably the two best teams in the NFC right now and possibly a playoff preview.
But instead of providing fans with a competitive matchup, the game turned into a farce, as the 49ers embarrassed the Cowboys 42-10 and made mincemeat of them on both sides of the football.
Dallas came into the contest with one of the NFL’s best defenses, but they allowed 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy to complete 17 of 24 passes and throw four touchdown passes.
Defensive coordinator Dan Quinn sounded like he was ready to put the loss behind him, per Todd Archer.
“We’re not going to let that game beat us twice,” Quinn said.

The red flags were there from the start for the Cowboys, as they fell behind 14-0 early in the second quarter, and it only got worse for them from that point on.
While they were able to contain San Francisco running back Christian McCaffrey, holding him to 51 rushing yards, they allowed tight end George Kittle to rack up 67 yards and three touchdowns.
Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott struggled once again in a big game, throwing three interceptions, virtually preventing his team from having any chance of mounting a comeback.
After looking unstoppable at times in the first four games of the season, the Cowboys are now 3-2, and their stock has fallen considerably.
They will face the Los Angeles Chargers on the road next week before they have their bye week.
