It seems as though everyone on the Dallas Cowboys knows how big a game this week’s matchup with the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles is, with a lot of players chiming in on the showdown with Jalen Hurts and company.
Star quarterback Dak Prescott and superstar linebacker Micah Parsons have already given their two cents on the game in Philadelphia and know full well what a win would do for America’s Team moving forward.
With the Eagles being arguably the best team in the league right now while sporting the NFL’s best record at 7-1, star defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence is the latest Cowboys player to let it be known how important this game is against their bitter rivals.
According to Jon Machota of The Athletic, Lawrence spoke about the upcoming clash with the Eagles and knows a win would thrust Dallas into another category entirely in the second half of the 2023 NFL season.
Cowboys DE DeMarcus Lawrence: “We’re not going to sugarcoat it like the Eagles don’t have a good team. They’re one of the best teams in the league, and if we want to solidify ourselves and say who we are and beat our chest, we have to come out with this win.”

The pressure will be on for the Cowboys defense to step up in Week 9, as they’ll been facing one of the best offensive lines in the game and one of the most talented quarterbacks in the league under center.
Even though the Eagles have been anything but perfect this season, as the team has struggled against some pretty bad teams, Philadelphia is currently the cream of the crop, and a loss would be costly, while a win for the Cowboys might be a game-changer.
It seems as though the Eagles have everything to lose in this game while the Cowboys have everything to gain, as a win might put Dallas firmly into the title-contending conversation moving forward.
