Throughout their recent history, the Dallas Cowboys have struggled to be at their best against winning teams, and this season hasn’t been the exception to that rule.
Their loss to the San Francisco 49ers sounded plenty of alarms, and now, some even doubt their ability to make the playoffs.
A recent article by The Athletic deemed QB Dak Prescott as an average quarterback, pointing him out as one of the main reasons behind their struggles.
However, former star WR Michael Irvin doesn’t agree with that distinction.
In his recent appearance on “Undisputed,” Irvin instead blamed his skill players, offensive line, and coaches.
Per Irvin, the offensive line isn’t giving Prescott any sort of opportunity or time to operate, and the skill players need to step up and create some separation.
“Dak Prescott is not an average QB. These WRs have to step up and play better.”

He also blamed the coaches for not drawing up good plays to give the wide receivers a hand.
Truth be told, chances are that Irvin knows a lot more football than the average human being, but blaming three different positions for one guy’s shortcomings seems like a stretch.
Prescott is a very good person and he clearly has a lot of friends in the league, especially within the organization.
Yet, he hasn’t been able to get back to his pre-injury level, and he might never do it at this point.
The Cowboys could give him a helping hand, that’s a fact.
But it’s also a fact hat most of his mistakes have been unprovoked.
