Star Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is not currently with the team, as he is trying to get a contract extension done.
Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer recently spoke with the Dallas media on Lamb being away from the team and if that might hurt the offense.
“It doesn’t matter right now. CeeDee is a pro. He’s gonna know what to do…We know he’s taking care of business and when he gets back here, we’ll certainly be able to find ways to get him the ball,” Schottenheimer said.

Lamb is one of the best receivers in the entire National Football League.
That means a few things.
First, it means he should be fairly compensated and feel a sense of security from the franchise.
After all, he is a cornerstone piece of the team.
Secondly, it means he doesn’t necessarily need to be in the building for himself and the offense to be successful.
As Schottenheimer said, he is a pro.
The best wide receivers always know how to prepare properly, even if they aren’t in the building.
Lamb has made three Pro Bowls in the first four years of his career.
The 2020 first-round pick has recorded 1,000 receiving yards in each of the last three seasons and has close to 400 career receptions over his young career.
Look for the Cowboys front office to do whatever it takes to keep the 25-year-old in the fold for a long, long time.
Also, look for the offense to not skip a beat with him when he is back in the building.
