In Week 9, the Dallas Cowboys headed into arguably their second-biggest game of the season, with Dak Prescott and company tasked with trying to get the best of the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles on the road at Lincoln Financial Field.
If the Cowboys’ performance against the San Francisco 49ers a few weeks earlier was any indicator of things to come, Dallas wouldn’t stand a chance in this game against arguably the best team in the league right now.
However, that didn’t turn out to be the case, with the game coming down to the wire with the ball in Prescott’s hands, but the team still fell short as they were unable to get in the end zone, resulting in a third loss on the year thus far.
In the aftermath of the loss to the Eagles, the Cowboys made an interesting move on Tuesday, with the team bringing in veteran wide receiver Martavis Bryant, who hasn’t played in the NFL since 2018.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Dallas is signing Bryant to a deal, potentially adding another weapon to the passing game for the Cowboys.
Breaking news in the NFL: The Dallas Cowboys are signing newly-reinstated wide receiver Martavis Bryant to a contract, according to sources. Bryant, who last played for the Raiders in 2018, had 17 touchdowns and 2,183 receiving yards in 44 career games. pic.twitter.com/vWafe37r3J

Adding Bryant into the mix in Dallas is an interesting move by Jerry Jones and company, as they’ll be bringing a player in who has had substance-abuse problems and someone who could be a distraction for the team moving forward.
With Bryant being away from football for so long due to the league more or less banishing him for repeated offenses, it’ll be interesting to see whether he’s gotten his life together and can be that once-promising star he was for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the then-Oakland Raiders.
