The Houston Texans made the postseason much earlier than anyone expected and it’s largely in part to rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud.
Head coach DeMeco Ryans also deserves a lot of credit for the job he’s done in his first year leading Houston, but Stroud’s on-field performance has been the difference.
Stroud didn’t look out of place in the Wild Card Round in the Texans’ blowout win against the Cleveland Browns, though he faces a much tougher test this weekend when he hits the road to play the Baltimore Ravens.
Regardless of the result, Stroud’s proven that he should’ve been the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and has Houston set up for long-term success.
Part of the reason why Stroud’s stock dipped a bit during the draft process was because of his reportedly low score on the S2 cognition test.
However, the creators of the S2 test advised that Stroud’s test likely resulted in an invalid result via Ryan Heath of Fantasy Points.
“Remember the S2 cognition test? Its creators now tell the Wall Street Journal that C.J. Stroud’s poor result was “potentially invalid” and should never have been leaked,” Heath reported.

S2 is designed to measure an athlete’s split-second reaction times to stimuli on a computer screen though it appears that there are a handful of individuals that get flagged for invalid results.
Stroud was mocked for scoring so low, but it appears that he either could’ve been distracted or was tired from the draft process when taking the test.
It doesn’t matter much now, though, as Stroud’s exceeded all expectations and looks like the next superstar quarterback.
