Dak Prescott had a lot to prove heading into the 2023 season.
After falling short of last year’s NFC championship, many wondered if Prescott was the right leader for the Dallas Cowboys.
He responded to these critiques well throughout the regular season and was in MVP talks for most of the year.
While the public opinion of him might have changed, the Cowboys’ Wild Card loss to the Green Bay Packers could stir up old dialogue surrounding him.
Prescott spoke with the media after this loss, providing a quote “I sucked tonight” according to reporter Michael Gehlken.

Prescott attempted 60 passes in this game, completing 41 en route to a 403-yard, three-touchdown day.
While that might seem like the stat line of a winning quarterback, he gained a significant portion of his yards in the second half, trying to claw his way back into the game.
A likely reason for Prescott saying he “sucked” is his two interceptions.
Prescott had a lot of turnover issues in 2022, something he made a conscious effort to get better at this season.
While his overall number of turnovers was lower, Prescott reverted back to old habits when it mattered most.
One of his interceptions was a pick-six to Darnell Savage, a devastating blow to an already frustrated Cowboys team.
Prescott and his teammates will have plenty of time to reflect on this loss in the offseason, hoping that history doesn’t repeat itself next year.
The Cowboys have a lot of roster and personnel decisions to make, including what is next for Prescott in this organization.
