The Dallas Cowboys gave Ezekiel Elliott a warm welcome back home, although the outcome of the game wasn’t exactly the one he expected.
Mike McCarthy’s team completely dominated the New England Patriots, limiting Zeke to just 16 yards on six carries.
Some thought this would be a perfect opportunity for Elliott to get back at his former team and prove that he could still contribute at a high level, but the Patriots offense was shut down from start to finish.
Even so, Elliott still had some time to reach out to his former teammate and friend, Dak Prescott, and they shared a big moment after the game (via NFL).

You may or may not like Zeke’s personality, but he was always a solid teammate, having Prescott’s back through thick and thin and taking the blame at times for his struggles.
Reports state that he was willing to take a big pay cut to be back in Arlington this season, but that ship had sailed already.
The Cowboys claimed that they didn’t want to insult him by making him a small offer, and they were already all set with Tony Pollard as their featured back.
Elliott found it quite tough to get another opportunity in the league, waiting until training camp to strike a deal with Robert Kraft’s team.
He left Dallas as sixth on their all-time rushing yards list, and even if he didn’t help them end their Super Bowl drought, he should be inducted into their Ring of Honor once he retires.
