The NFL Draft class of 2024 is stacked at the quarterback position.
Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels are expected to go 1-3, regardless of the order.
Then, we find the likes of Bo Nix, Michael Penix Jr., and J.J. McCarthy.
Notably, the latter’s draft stock has been on the rise lately, and some believe he could climb all the way to the top ten by the day of the draft.
That includes former NFL QB Dan Orlovsky.
Talking on ESPN’s Get Up, Orlovsky raved about McCarthy’s game in the pocket, showing a clip of how his awareness and quick feet helped him make a big throw and hit his receiver in stride.

He talked about how a quick hitch allowed him to avoid a defender and put the football right where it needed to be when it needed to be.
Orlovsky called McCarthy ‘ The Terminator’ in the pocket, stating that his level of consistency and his mechanics in the pocket could successfully translate to the next level.
For months, McCarthy has been one of the most polarizing quarterback prospects in this class.
He wasn’t what some might call a ‘volume’ passer, but he excelled on an efficient, run-heavy system and behind an elite defense.
He looked more raw than other players, and one could argue that his ceiling isn’t as high.
Then again, the more scouts watch his film, the more they seem to like what they see.
Anything can happen until the day of the NFL Draft, but don’t be shocked if McCarthy is the fourth QB taken off the board.
