The San Francisco 49ers have a decision to make.
Brandon Aiyuk is reportedly disgruntled with the team, and they might not be in a position to pay him as much as he wants and deserves, especially if they also give Brock Purdy a big contract extension.
That’s why Dan Orlovsky wouldn’t be shocked if they were to take a wide receiver in the first round of the NFL Draft.

Talking on First Take, the former quarterback made a case for John Lynch to take an offensive weapon, leaving the door open to trade Aiyuk to the highest bidder.
Most analysts have the Niners either adding an offensive tackle or a defensive lineman, so this would be a bit of a surprise.
Then again, there’s plenty of talent at wide receiver, and it is a fact that they might not be able to make numbers work for Aiyuk.
Aiyuk is coming off an All-Pro season, and he wants to have a bigger role in the offense.
That’s going to be tough to do for as long as he shares the field with the likes of Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, and Deebo Samuel.
He’s one of the best wide receivers in the game, and he’s done his damage lined up all over the field.
But if the Niners want their project to be sustainable and keep stacking up talent for years to come, they’ll have to make a sacrifice at some point, and Aiyuk is most likely to be the odd man out.
