The Chicago Bears have never had an elite quarterback in franchise history.
That’s crazy if you consider the fact that this franchise has been around for more than a century.
Also, given their recent history of failure at the quarterback position, some people believe they will mess things up again.
As talented as Caleb Williams is, all young players — and especially quarterbacks — need proper development to fulfill their potential, so it’s easy to understand these concerns.
Nonetheless, former NFL QB Dan Orlovsky claims there’s no reason to be so pessimistic.
“We have no evidence to sit here and say that we cannot believe they can develop a young quarterback,” Orlovsky said.

Talking on ESPN’s Get Up, Orlovsky stated that no one has any proof that this current regime won’t be able to develop a young quarterback.
He thinks people talk about this current regime as if they had been there since the inception of the franchise, and that’s a valid point.
He also stated that Mitch Trubisky’s situation was different because he was under a lame-duck head coach, and that’s similar to what happened with Justin Fields.
Whatever the case, there will always be risks and concerns when it comes to young quarterbacks.
On paper, Williams has absolutely everything he needs to become a star, and the Bears have gone the extra mile to make sure to surround him with the kind of supporting cast he needs to be at his best.
Hopefully, Williams will finally put an end to this drought and become the first legitimate superstar at the most crucial position in the game; it’s about time.
