The New York Giants came into the 2023 NFL season full of hope and optimism after surprising the league with a Wild Card berth last year.
The Giants under head coach Brian Daboll were a feisty team that played well on both sides of the field and were competitive on a weekly basis.
However, this year was the complete opposite as New York stumbled out of the gate and quickly fell out of the postseason picture.
Things went from bad to worse when the Giants lost Daniel Jones to a torn ACL earlier this season, poor timing considering the franchise inked him to a four-year extension this past offseason.
Without Jones, New York has been trotting out backup quarterback Tommy DeVito who has turned himself into a fan favorite since taking over the job.
Jones has been rehabbing the injury since he went down and offered a positive injury update via Jordan Raanan of ESPN.
“It’s definitely the goal to get back by training camp,” Jones said.

A torn ACL is a serious injury for any player to come back from, though Jones’ timeline typically falls in line with the normal recovery process.
As a mobile quarterback who can use his legs to make plays, getting back to 100 percent is the goal for Jones who is slated to be the starter when he can return.
New York’s ceiling is much higher with Jones under center versus a regular backup, though it remains to be seen how well he’ll look on the field coming off such a devastating injury.
