After signing a contract extension with the New York Giants before last season, which many believe should’ve been given to star running back Saquon Barkley instead, quarterback Daniel Jones was given a vote of confidence from the storied franchise that he was their starter moving forward.
Unfortunately for Jones, the 2023 NFL season was a disaster as he failed to prove his worth to the team, leading to speculation that the Giants are ready to move on from him and draft what would be the team’s next franchise player under center.
On Monday, things got a bit awkward for Jones and the Giants franchise, with the team holding a press conference and their quarterback having to address questions about his immediate future with the team.
Jones was bluntly asked whether he thought he was the right man for the job moving forward, prompting an address that would inevitably come out of his mouth, via Giants Videos on Twitter.
“I do, yes,” Jones said.

Although Jones gave the typical answer that anyone would give with their job on the line, New York could be one of the many teams that will be ready to draft a rookie quarterback in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.
The Giants are currently set to draft at No. 6 overall, which might be high enough to land one of the top-tier quarterbacks in this draft class or the team may have to go a different route to trade up to secure a better position to bring in player that has potentially caught their eye.
