Giants tight end Darren Waller is at an interesting crossroads in his NFL career and life.
There are potential rumors of him wanting to hang up his cleats after eight years in the NFL.
Just recently, he posted a video of him rapping on social media in response to the retirement rumors.
“It’s hard receiving a message from God that he’s taking back what you’ve been blessed with,” Waller sang.

He also sang about the reports regarding his divorce with NBA star Kelsey Plum.
If he is indeed hanging up his cleats like he is saying in his song, it was a very strong career for somebody who had to overcome a lot in his career off the field.
The former Pro-Bowler broke into the league with the Baltimore Ravens after getting drafted out of Georgia Tech in the sixth round back in 2015.
He would go on to make his name with the Raiders after recording 90+ receptions and over 1,100 receiving yards in back-to-back seasons (2019-2020).
His best career season came in the latter year when he caught a league-leading 107 passes for 1,196 yards and 9 touchdowns.
If he is retiring, it would be a big loss for the New York Giants, who viewed him as a key piece of the offense despite his low numbers in 2023.
They will now need to really do some future work on the tight end room.
The 6-6, 250-pound tight end was a dangerous red-zone weapon and great stretcher of the field in his career, especially while with the Raiders.
That is what he’ll be known for.
