The San Francisco 49ers get to sit back, relax, and watch wild card weekend unfold in front of their eyes, full well knowing that they’ll have to face one of those teams next week in the divisional round.
As such, 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel took a good look at the NFC field and categorized each team with one word.
For the Los Angeles Rams, who face the Detroit Lions this weekend in the wild card round, Samuel quickly called them a frightening matchup because of how well they’ve played recently.
“That’s a scary team right now,” Samuel said on FanDuel TV’s “Up & Adams” show Sunday. “I think they won six of their last seven and fell short from the [Baltimore] Ravens.”

Samuel would know, as the Rams took down the 49ers to end the season – although San Francisco didn’t play most of their starters.
The Rams utilized a lot of their youth to build their playoff run to end the season.
With stalwarts like quarterback Matthew Stafford, wide receiver Cooper Kupp, and defensive tackle Aaron Donald still leading the charge, Los Angeles has also seen a lot of quality contributions from younger players as well.
They’ll be a threat against any team in the playoffs, but they’ll first need to go to Detroit and beat a red-hot Lions team led by Los Angeles’ former first-round pick Jared Goff.
