Only four teams are left in the NFL playoffs, meaning that the rest of the NFL is in their offseason.
After seeing the number of coaches that were let go once their team was eliminated, organizations immediately hunted for a new head coach.
Fans were expecting this process to take a while, but teams are acting quickly, as evidenced by how things have gone so far.
There are now just two head coaching spots left, as Dave Canales has recently been hired for the Carolina Panthers position.
The Panthers have struggled to retain head coaches over the past several years, but they are hoping Canales is the real deal.
They believe in him so much, that, as Adam Schefter reported, the team signed him to a six-year contract.

A six-year contract is a long time for any coach, especially for a coach who hasn’t been in your building before.
Canales comes to the Panthers as a highly-regarded offensive mind.
He has been credited for Baker Mayfield’s rise to relevance in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense, who led the team to the divisional round of the playoffs this year.
With any luck, Canales will be able to use his wisdom and career experience to help Bryce Young succeed after he had some major struggles in Year 1 with the team.
The Panthers had the worst record in the NFL this season, and while this might be seen as a negative, it is also a starting point for Canales with his new roster.
