Tampa Bay Buccaneers veteran wide receiver Mike Evans could be the biggest free agent to hit the open market this offseason.
Evans finished the year with his 10th consecutive 1,000-yard season and led the NFL with 13 touchdown receptions in 2023.
He and the team failed to reach a long-term extension this past offseason and must now either come to an agreement before the start of free agency or go their separate ways.
According to the Houston Chronicle, though, Evans is looking to sign a new deal worth between $25-30 million per season (via Dov Kleiman).

If Evans were to sign a deal for anywhere in that range, that would put him on the same tier as Tyreek Hill, Davante Adams, Cooper Kupp, and A.J. Brown, according to Spotrac.
Whether or not Evans is worth that or good enough to be paid as much as those players will be up to the rest of the league to decide.
For now, the Buccaneers are in the driver’s seat to secure him on a long-term extension and continue to feature him in an offense that won the NFC South again and advanced to the divisional round with Chris Godwin, Rachaad White, and Baker Mayfield under center.
Evans has been one of the most consistent wide receivers over his entire career and it looked like it turned back the clock in 2023 with Mayfield throwing him the ball.
So while the Buccaneers may be the favorite to land him, another team with significantly more salary cap space could swoop in and give Evans the type of contract he is looking for in 2024.
