Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll was born to make history.
He is very likely to be picked as the National League’s Rookie of the Year because of his incredible performance in the regular season.
He became the first rookie in history to hit 25 home runs, log at least 50 stolen bases (he had 54), hit 30 doubles, and score a minimum of 115 runs (he crossed home plate 116 times).
He did all that while posting a cool .868 OPS at 23 years old.
Carroll has been having an incredible postseason, too, and was a monster in Game 7 of the National League Championship Series against the Philadelphia Phillies.
He came through with three hits, two steals, two runs, and two RBI when his team needed him the most and made history in the process.
“The first player in MLB history with 3+ hits and 2+ stolen bases in a Game 7. How is he only 23 years old?!” his team tweeted.

Carroll had been a bit quiet in the NLCS, but in Game 7, he played with the calmness of a seasoned veteran and the hunger of a rookie: the perfect combo.
All things considered, Carroll has had a very good performance in the playoffs: he has hit .295/.396/.455 with two home runs, four stolen bases, nine runs, and a .851 OPS.
He has been a spark-plug for the pesky D-Backs, and will be one of the X-factors as they head to the World Series against the Texas Rangers.
A Rookie of the Year award and a World Series ring would be a cool way to start a career, and Carroll is very close on both.
