The Los Angeles Dodgers have been the talk of the MLB offseason.
They spent over $1 billion on free agents, including signing the best player available.
LA signed Shohei Ohtani to a 10-year, $700 million deal.
We may never see a deal like that again.
It has changed the landscape of baseball for the foreseeable future.
But, Ohtani still has to live up to the contract on the field.
In 2024, he will be unable to pitch as he recovers from elbow surgery.
But, Ohtani teased that he might be playing some outfield for the Dodgers this season.
According to Juan Toribio, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts shut down the idea of Ohtani playing the outfield.
#Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he doesn’t see Shohei Ohtani playing any outfield this season. Ohtani has been carrying around a glove, but it appears it’s just for Sho.

If Ohtani is unable to pitch, it would not make sense for the Dodgers to let him play the outfield.
He is their prized player, and they will not do anything to risk further injury.
The only thing we will see Ohtani do this season is hit.
He should be their everyday designated hitter.
Still, he has MVP potential hitting in this Dodgers lineup.
The top three hitters in their lineup are expected to be Mookie Betts, Ohtani, and Freddie Freeman.
All three are former MVP winners.
One reason the Dodgers were so aggressive this offseason is their recent playoff failures.
LA has lost in the NLDS in back-to-back years.
But, coming into this season they are the heavy favorites to win the World Series.
If they cannot get it done this season, the critics will be out in full force.
