The Los Angeles Dodgers have pulled off the biggest signing in MLB history.
Most fans knew that when Shohei Ohtani was set to hit free agency he would command a lot of money.
But what the Dodgers were willing to spend to get Ohtani was much more than most teams could afford.
Ohtani agreed to a 10-year, $700 million contract with Dodgers.
That is the largest deal in North American sports history.
Many Dodgers fans could not believe it and were waiting for the Dodgers to make the deal official.
On Monday, the Dodgers tweeted that the deal was official and it was a sigh of relief for Dodgers nation.
The Dodgers even showed all the fans who tweeted at them about announcing the Ohtani deal.

With a contract like this, you can bet there was an extensive physical exam involved.
Ohtani is coming off elbow surgery and the Dodgers wanted to make sure he was recovering properly.
What makes Ohtani worth the money is that he is a two-way star.
He is arguably a top-10 hitter and pitcher in MLB.
But he will not be able to pitch until 2025, as he recovers from the elbow surgery.
Still, adding Ohtani to a lineup with two perennial MVP candidates makes the Dodgers the team to beat.
There is not a better big 3 in baseball than Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, and Mookie Betts.
Anything short of a World Series title for this team would be a major disappointment.
