The Miami Dolphins have locked up one of their bright, young stars on offense.
Speedy wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, has agreed to a three-year, $84.75 million deal with the team.
$76 million will be guaranteed in the contract.
Waddle is now one of the five highest-paid wide receivers in the league.
This just in: Miami and WR Jaylen Waddle reached agreement today on a three-year, $84.75 million contract extension that includes $76 million guaranteed, per sources. The deal makes Waddle one of the league’s top five highest-paid receivers.

Waddle gets lost in the shuffle down in Miami because they have so many skillful players.
With Tyreek Hill there, defenses tend to sleep on Waddle, which is why he has been so productive early on in his career.
The former national champion wide receiver at Alabama has recorded over 1,000 yards in each of his first three NFL seasons.
He has over 250 receptions across those seasons and a career yards-per-reception mark of 13.5.
His 4.3 speed is what sets him apart from every other receiver not named Tyreek Hill.
Speaking of Hill, the Miami Dolphins certainly have one of the best offenses in football.
They will continue to have that moving forward with the extension of Waddle.
Hill will be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame one day.
Waddle is the other stud.
Then, the team signed former three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. earlier this offseason too.
Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has some great weapons to work with, perhaps the best group in the league.
That doesn’t even take into account the star running backs in Raheem Mostert and De’Von Achane.
This franchise is loaded on offense, and the Jaylen Waddle extension only furthers that notion.
