The Miami Dolphins proved last season that the franchise is trending up and that the team is the real deal moving forward with one of the best offenses in the league and a formidable defense.
With Tua Tagovailoa proving to be the real deal under center and the offense clicking due to the presence of superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill downfield and a better-than-expected Raheem Mostert coming out of the backfield, the Dolphins are arguably in a championship window, and every move from here on out will be crucial to the team’s immediate future.
Coming into the NFL offseason, the Dolphins’ main area of concern was the defensive side of the football, even though Miami had a formidable defense during the 2023 campaign.
With the team recently losing star defensive tackle Christian Wilkins to the Las Vegas Raiders in NFL free agency, a massive void had to be filled, which the team appears to have addressed on Friday.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Dolphins have agreed to a one-year deal with defensive tackle Teair Tart, who was previously with the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans.
Dolphins are signing former Texans and Titans DT Teair Tart to a one-year deal, per his agents Drew Rosenhaus and Ryan Matha. Tart has 79 career tackles and 2.5 sacks.

With only 79 tackles and 2.5 sacks to his credit during his career, Tart’s addition is clearly not a game-changer, but Miami is doing what it can to ensure this defense can continue to perform next season.
Along with Tart, the Dolphins have made some significant moves in free agency, adding safety Jordan Poyer, cornerback Kendall Fuller, and linebackers Jordyn Brooks and Shaq Barrett.
