After failed stints with the San Francisco 49ers and the then-Washington Redskins, linebacker Reuben Foster couldn’t get another job in the NFL and was forced to contemplate a future without football.
However, he was able to land a job with the Pittsburgh Maulers of the USFL back in January, a few years after his contract with Washington had expired, which left some serious doubt about whether he’d ever get to play in the NFL again.
Nearly a year after signing with the Maulers, Foster has been given another opportunity to resurrect his playing career in the NFL.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Miami Dolphins have scheduled a workout with Foster for Wednesday.

At one point in time, Foster had a lot of promise as a defensive player who could have a long and successful career in the NFL after a successful stint with the University of Alabama under legendary head coach Nick Saban.
Unfortunately, off-the-field issues didn’t help convince teams to take a chance on him outside of San Francisco and Washington D.C., which led to so much uncertainty about his playing career and whether he’d be able to stay afloat at the NFL level.
Apparently, the Dolphins see something in Foster to merit a workout, but it remains to be seen if he can convince Miami to take a chance on him, especially with the team having Super Bowl aspirations after a 9-3 start to the 2023 NFL season.
