The Miami Dolphins head into a critical Week 16 showdown against the Dallas Cowboys.
The game will affect both teams’ playoff hopes, as the Dolphins have the second-best record in the AFC and the Cowboys have the second-best record in the NFC.
Miami played this past week without star receiver Tyreek Hill, who suffered an ankle injury the week prior.
But it sounds as though Hill will return this week for the Dolphins, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
#Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel told reporters that he expects RB De’Von Achane (toe) to play against the #Cowboys. He also reiterated that WR Tyreek Hill (ankle) had no setbacks and he feels good about Hill playing.

This is huge news for Miami, even if they were able to decimate the New York Jets, 30-0, without Hill a week ago.
He and Tua Tagovailoa have become one of the best quarterback-receiver duos in the NFL and will now have an opportunity to continue their sensational season.
Hill still leads the NFL in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns despite missing a game and needs fewer than 500 yards in the final three games to become the first receiver to break 2,000 receiving yards in a season.
This also takes some pressure off fellow wideout Jaylen Waddle, who played well in Hill’s absence with eight receptions for 142 yards and a touchdown against the Jets.
The Dolphins are barreling toward their first AFC East title since 2008 behind the No. 1 overall offense this season.
Miami’s end-of-season stretch doesn’t get any easier after this week, though, as they’ll play the AFC-leading Baltimore Ravens in Week 16 before a 2023 regular-season finale against the Buffalo Bills the following week.
The hope for the Dolphins is Hill will be healthy for all three of those games as the playoffs beckon.
