The Miami Dolphins struck gold with De’Von Achane.
Despite his size — or lack thereof — the speedster out of Texas A&M had been one of the most explosive players in the league thus far.
That’s why it was such a blow to see that the Dolphins intend to place him on Injured Reserve, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Sources: Dolphins placing RB De’Von Achane on injured reserve due to his knee.
Achane now will miss the Dolphins’ next four games – Carolina, at Philadelphia, New England, at Kansas City.

With this move, Achane is expected to miss at least the next four games, meaning he won’t be on the field when they play the Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots, and Kansas City Chiefs.
The Dolphins will have their Bye week in Week 10, so we won’t see him back until Week 11 at the very earliest.
The third-round pick burst onto the scene with a four-touchdown performance during the Dolphins’ 70-point performance against the Denver Broncos, and he looked like a lock to get the nod as Mike McDaniel’s RB1 for the remainder of the season.
His teammates have raved about his work ethic and understanding of the offense, stating that he’s far ahead of schedule and praising his football IQ.
The Dolphins have the most entertaining offense in the game right now, and they added another potentially impactful piece by trading for Chase Claypool.
Their running game had been the biggest question mark, and they reportedly tried to get Dalvin Cook in the offseason.
Hopefully, Raheem Mostert will be able to hold down the fort while his younger teammate works his way back to the field for the most crucial stretch of the season.
