The Miami Dolphins continued to show that when they get a favorable matchup they’re more than likely going to dominate the game.
That assertion proved to be true as they rolled over the Washington Commander to improve their record to 9-3 and tighten their grip on the AFC East.
The Dolphins got off to a great start as Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill connected on a pair of long touchdowns that put the game out of reach for the Commanders.
Miami poured it on though as their defense made sure to get after Sam Howell and prevent Washington from ever getting remotely close on the scoreboard.
The Dolphins’ defense has improved as of late, though they lost a key piece in Jaelan Phillips when he suffered an Achilles injury in their Week 12 win over the New York Jets.
Emmanuel Ogbah paid tribute to Phillips on the field by flashing his number via the team’s official Twitter account which the linebacker reacted to on his personal Twitter account.

Phillips recently underwent surgery to address his Achilles injury, though his teammates did a great job of making sure they’re still thinking of him as he recovers.
It’s a blow for the linebackers corps considering how effective Phillips has been this season, but Miami’s defense will have to find ways to make up for his loss.
Fortunately, though, the team is rediscovering its groove and should be a major threat come postseason time.
Phillips will be cheering for them from his home, but at least he knows he’s still considered a part of the team.
