The New York Giants have one of the best offensive-minded coaches in the game.
There were high expectations about Daniel Jones and his improvement when they hired Brian Daboll, and the early returns were very encouraging.
Daboll had brought out the best of Josh Allen, helping him become a perennial MVP candidate, and he also helped Jones have the best season of his career and get a big contract.
But given his worrisome regression in 2023, some believe the Giants might be ready to pull the plug on the Duke product.
Recent rumors state that the Giants are keeping tabs on UNC star Drake Maye.
And when asked about whether he would like to play for the G-Men, he cited Daboll and his work with quarterbacks as why he would definitely be glad to play in the Big Apple (via Giants Videos).
“Coach Daboll, you’ve seen what he’s done with quarterbacks. They’ve got a good thing going.”

Of course, it won’t be easy for the Giants.
He’s projected to be the No. 3 pick to the New England Patriots, and the Giants won’t be on the clock for three more picks at No. 6.
The Patriots have stated that they would consider trading back from No. 3, but they’ve reportedly “laughed at” the offers they’ve gotten for that selection thus far.
Maye is highly unlikely to be available after No. 3, and the Giants might have to give up a lot to get him.
Whether they’ll be able to pull that off and get the UNC standout remains to be seen, but it seems like there’s a mutual interest in a partnership.
