The top of the 2024 NFL Draft is still as uncertain as ever, as all we know is that each team needs a quarterback, but we have no idea which quarterbacks are going where aside from presumably USC’s Caleb Williams first overall to the Chicago Bears.
Drake Maye was seemingly a lock at No. 2 a few months ago, but with the emergence of so many other QB talents rising up the boards, it’s still unclear what will happen, although a recent report would indicate that he is still in play at No. 2.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Maye is set to visit the Washington Commanders next Tuesday and Wednesday while adding that Heisman-winning LSU QB Jayden Daniels will be visiting the day before.
North Carolina QB Drake Maye is set to visit the #Commanders next Tuesday and Wednesday, sources say. #LSU QB Jayden Daniels will be in Washington on a visit the day prior.
On the final days of pre-draft visits, Maye and Daniels will be with the team that holds the No. 2 pick.

The Commanders of course have the No. 2 pick, and these visits will be taking place on the final days of pre-draft visits.
Washington wouldn’t be having Maye in for consecutive days right at the end of the pre-draft process if it wasn’t seriously considering selecting him with the second pick.
Maye has been criticized through the pre-draft process for having accuracy and decision-making issues, but praised for being an exceptional talent comparable to Josh Allen.
The top of the draft has been muddied even more by the recent rise of Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy and Washington QB Michael Penix Jr., who both had impressive Pro Days and have reportedly enamored other teams with high first-round picks.
The pre-draft process is almost over, so there’s not much more time to dissect every aspect of these players.
Soon, we’ll have sweet solace.
