New Cleveland Browns running backs coach Duce Staley brings hefty credentials to the position and knows he is fortunate to work with one of the game’s top rushers.
A Super Bowl winner both as a player and a coach, Staley sees the vast potential for the team with the anticipated return of Nick Chubb.
Coming off a severe knee injury that ended his 2023 campaign prematurely, Chubb is expected back on the playing field at some point this year.
Staley told Mary Kay Cabot that the infamously quiet Chubb is a consummate professional, and he expects “nothing less” than the best from the star running back when he returns.

The Week 2 injury suffered against the Pittsburgh Steelers meant a pair of grueling surgeries for Chubb.
It was late-September when he went under the knife for the first time.
Two months later, Chubb underwent a second surgery to fix his ACL.
That left knee also underwent reconstructive surgery in 2015 while the running back was a star at the University of Georgia.
He resumed running on land in April as part of his rehabilitation, but there is no timetable for his return to the playing field.
He told reporters recently that it was challenging to have nearly the same injury he suffered in college, and he knew from the outset the difficult road he faced to return to full strength.
