After winning 10 of their first 11 games of the 2023 NFL regular season, the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles have lost two games in a row to arguably the two teams in the conference that could beat them come playoff time.
As if losing to the San Francisco 49ers at Lincoln Financial Field in convincing fashion wasn’t bad enough, the Eagles were unable to contend with the division-rival Dallas Cowboys a week later at AT&T Stadium in a similar fashion, which turned a lot of heads in the NFL, as it seems this team might be losing its edge at the worst time possible.
Ahead of Week 15’s showdown against the Seattle Seahawks on the road, head coach Nick Sirianni spoke to the media and talked about his team coming off two costly losses to fellow NFC heavyweights and what they can learn from these losses, via the Eagles on YouTube.
Unlike other head coaches in the NFL who might lose their cool or get defensive in a press conference like this, Sirianni took a different approach by being open to criticism, embracing things the team gets criticized for, and taking a look at things the media or fans point out that need to be fixed.
It’s a very progressive and optimistic approach by Sirianni and might be the reason why he’s been so successful as the team’s head coach up to this point.
Sirianni openly admits that the Eagles didn’t play well enough, nor was the team coached well enough to win the last two weeks, which he and the team plan to change moving forward.
