Throughout the NFL offseason, a lot of things can be said by players, coaches, and team executives that can turn heads and start controversies, debates and rumors that fill the offseason until the regular season gets back underway in September.
Although we are not in the dog days of summer just yet where content and topics about the NFL and other professional sports come to a crawl, cornerback Joey Porter Jr. of the Pittsburgh Steeles has started to make waves with his recent comments about his skill level on the football field.
There’s no question that Porter Jr. is a promising young player in the NFL today and could be one of the best players at his position, but he may have taken things a bit too far recently with his controversial comments.
Porter told Mark Kaboly of The Athletic that he believes he’s the best corner in the league today via Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.
“There are a lot of good defensive backs in this league,” Porter said. “Nobody was doing what I was doing going against WR1st the entire year and locking them down. I don’t care if I am mentioned in there because they will hear my name eventually.”

Here are some fan reactions to Porter’s bold claim that he’s the best corner in the NFL:

As you can see, Porter’s comments sparked quite a reaction from fans of his work on Twitter, as no one seems to believe the Steelers up-and-comer is the best of the best at the corner position in the NFL.
These comments will definitely draw the attention of some of the best players in the league at his position as well as opposing quarterbacks and wide receivers.
