Not so long ago, Ezekiel Elliott was the highest-paid running back in the National Football League.
He’s no longer that dominant force, becoming less efficient and struggling to put up yards after contact.
Elliott was eventually let go by the Dallas Cowboys, with the team cutting him loose as soon as the guaranteed money ran out.
He had to wait until shortly before the start of the season to get another chance, and was often called out and mocked for being out of shape and losing a step.
However, he kept grinding and recently proved that he could still be a factor and help his team win some football games.
With that in mind, the former Ohio State Buckeye talked about how he’s excited to prove to the world that he’s not washed and still has plenty left in the tank (via Mike Garafolo).
“I’m glad I’m able to show you guys I’ve still got it,” Elliott said.

Elliott logged 22 carries for 68 yards, being the only featured back out of the Patriots’ backfield.
He also logged seven receptions for 72 yards and a touchdown, averaging 10.3 yards per catch.
The Patriots needed him to step up big time, as they lost starting RB Rhamondre Stevenson to an injury, most likely for the season.
And while he’s by no means the elite tackle-breaker he used to be in his prime, Elliott has proven that he can still make an impact in today’s game, even if as a goal-line threat or as a change-of-pace back.
