After legendary head coach Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots agreed to part ways last week, the Atlanta Falcons immediately became the favorite to be the next stop for the future Hall of Famer as the successor to Arthur Smith.
So far, Belichick has interviewed with the team twice, as it seems inevitable that he’ll eventually be named the new head coach of the struggling NFL franchise.
However, that hasn’t stopped the Falcons brass from doing their due diligence, with the team still interviewing other candidates for the head coaching vacancy in Atlanta.
According to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, the Falcons have requested permission to interview Buffalo Bills interim offensive coordinator Joe Brady.
The Falcons have requested permission to interview Bills interim offensive coordinator Joe Brady for their vacant head-coaching job, sources say. Brady previously interviewed for the job in 2021.

With Belichick being the favorite to be the new head coach of the Falcons, interviewing Brady may be nothing but a formality, but it could also be a backup plan if the team didn’t get a great sense that the former Patriots head coach is ready to take the job.
Brady has bounced around the league a bit since getting his first job in the league with the New Orleans Saints as an offensive assistant in 2017.
After a short stint with the Saints, Brady joined the LSU coaching staff for a year before becoming the offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers from 2020-2021, which led to him landing with the Bills as quarterbacks coach for the last two years and interim offensive coordinator presently.
All of Brady’s attention is currently focused on the team’s playoff matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs this weekend, but he could end up with a head coaching gig during the offseason if he continues to get interviews.
