The Pittsburgh Steelers showed signs of life over the weekend.
Mason Rudolph had perhaps the best performance of his career, leading the team to a much-needed win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Now, HC Mike Tomlin confirmed that Rudolph would remain the starter for the upcoming matchup vs. the Seattle Seahawks.
Needless to say, that was met with some mixed reviews online.
Not surprising after how he just played

He said Rudolph is the starter at the beginning portion of the week, but Picketts health will determine it later in the week. Am I missing something ?

Sounds like the Steelers are throwing in the towel for the season.

Usually those deer have a year to regroup. This is a quick turnaround. Fade the Steelers.

Kenny Pickett continues to nurse an ankle injury, and Mitch Trubisky failed to hold down the fort in his absence, going 0-3 and putting the team at serious risk of not even making the playoffs.
There was a time when the Steelers thought Rudolph was going to be Ben Roethlisberger’s successor, and he definitely looked the part in that lone start this season.
The Steelers’ offense was showing signs of life upon Matt Canada’s firing, but Pickett’s injury set them back again.
Now, the team has yet to see Pickett playing under a different play-caller and with a different scheme to determine whether he’s the guy they need for their future.
Ironically, that could also leave the door wide open for Rudolph to showcase his talents and make another case for him being their starting QB for years to come.
This won’t be an easy matchup by any means, as the Seahawks also need to win out to keep their postseason hopes alive, but we already know how tough Tomlin can be when his team is at risk of finishing the year with a losing record, regardless of the opponent.
