After an incredible run during the 2023 NFL regular season, with rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud leading the way, the Houston Texans were able to take all the momentum they built and put it into making some noise in the NFL playoffs.
Although the team was an underdog heading into the postseason, with most people waiting for the team’s youth and inexperience to catch up with them, Houston went on to pull off a shocking upset over the Cleveland Browns and advance to the Divisional round to take on the top-seeded Baltimore Ravens.
Even though the Ravens went on to win the next round, the Texans had proven they were the real deal, with Stroud looking like a budding superstar, Ryans looking like the right head coach to lead this team, and a promising future ahead.
Along with all the team had proven throughout the 2023 campaign, Houston was armed with a considerable amount of cap space heading into the NFL offseason, which the team planned to put to use in order to take advantage of the team’s situation.
On Tuesday, the Texans made a big move in free agency as they were able to agree to terms with veteran defensive end Danielle Hunter, according to Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, which is a major move in the right direction for the franchise.

With Hunter now in the fold in Houston, the Texans will be viewed as potential title contenders heading into the 2024 NFL season, as they will be stacked on both sides of the football.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Texans make any more moves in free agency and whether that continues to move the needle in the right direction for Houston.
