Well, we’ve officially reached that point of the NFL season.
Following Josh McDaniels’ dismissal, it now seems like Frank Reich will join him on the unemployment list.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Carolina Panthers have decided to move on from Reich after falling to a 1-10 record.
Now, Special Teams Coordinator Chris Tabor will serve as interim Head Coach, while Jim Caldwell will become a special advisor working with the offense.
Needless to say, the fans had plenty to say about this, and they took to Twitter to show their thoughts on the matter.
Yeesh. Not to say firing Frank Reich wasn’t deserved but the Dave Tepper tenure as owner of the Panthers has been SHAKY.

Frank Reich’s oust is just ownership punching air they picked the wrong QB at 1. Stroud was the much better prospect IMO and it clearly shows, even with a defensive minded HC

Getting fired without finishing your first year is brutal. Pretty telling they wouldn’t even allow him to finish the season

Brandon Staley is next.

Not even giving someone a full year with a rookie QB is not a great advertisement for the stability and patience of your ownership

Jay Glazer had already hinted at the possibility of Reich being let go in-season.
This will be another pivotal moment in David Tepper’s long list of miscues in charge of the team, and it didn’t take long before he released a statement about it (via Adam Schefter).

Tepper replaced Ron Rivera with Matt Rhule and didn’t even offer Steve Wilks the job after he orchestrated an impressive turnaround when he took over mid-season.
He hired Reich, who had been fired after a subpar start to the season with the Indianapolis Colts, and reports suggest that he imposed the Bryce Young pick, even though several decision-makers preferred C.J. Stroud or Anthony Richardson.
Now, with the way Young has performed, their lack of a solid supporting cast, and the fact that they won’t even be picking for themselves in the first round of the upcoming NFL Draft, it’s hard to envision any big-name coach wanting to take the job.
