After star running back Nick Chubb went down with a severe knee injury in Week 2, it seemed the Cleveland Browns would be doomed to suffer through a miserable season.
Somehow, they hold a 2-2 record after blowing out the Tennessee Titans in Week 3 and then losing big to the Baltimore Ravens the following Sunday.
The Browns will face a stiff test this Sunday when they host the 5-0 San Francisco 49ers, and their chances of winning seem bleak, as quarterback Deshaun Watson will be out due to a shoulder injury, per Dov Kleiman.

This fan feels the Browns would’ve been headed for a loss even if Watson were completely healthy.
Not needed anyways. 49ers won’t have any issue getting passed the Browns with or without Watson.

Watson didn’t play in the loss to Baltimore, which undoubtedly was one reason Cleveland lost by 25 points that day.
Through three games, he has not looked like the Watson of old, although he did have a strong performance in Week 3 versus Tennessee when he completed 27 of 33 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns.
The Browns rank second in points allowed and first in total yards given up, but they will need to put up points against San Francisco, which is also one of the very best defensive teams in the NFL.
The 49ers are coming off a 42-10 dismantling of the Dallas Cowboys, and many now feel they are the best team in football.
Perhaps Cleveland’s only hope is to turn Sunday’s game into a total slugfest, but the Niners have shown in the past they are completely capable and even comfortable winning such games.
