The Detroit Lions have something not many teams can brag about, which is a solid backup quarterback.
Nonetheless, that might all change at the end of this campaign.
According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Teddy Bridgewater intends to retire at the end of the season to become a high school football coach (via Dov Kleiman).
Needless to say, plenty of fans had a lot to say about this, and they took to Twitter to share their love and praise for the Florida native.
Florida legend definitely the greatest Qb to come out Florida congratulations in your future endeavors Teddy

The NFL never ceases to amaze me to what’s considered young/old and the average age of retirees. Teddy Bridgewater is only 31 years old and is retiring.

Bridgewater was a first-round pick out of Louisville.
He looked like a superstar in the making and a potential franchise QB, even getting a Pro Bowl selection in 2015 before his career took a major downfall after a gruesome knee injury.
Bridgewater still worked his way back to the gridiron, having stints with the New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, and Miami Dolphins before arriving in Michigan.
Football is a physical sport, and all players are just a play away from potentially putting an end to their careers.
That puts in context just how much of a physical burden they have to endure week in and week out from their high school days until the end of their professional careers, and that’s an aspect that’s often overlooked by the fans.
It’s sad to think about what could’ve been of Teddy Bridgewater’s career, but it’s nice to see that he’s looking forward to giving back to the youth and guiding them in their first steps.
